Examining Your Spiritual Condition, Pt. 1

Topic: Race Passage: Hebrews 12:1–12:2
In this sermon podcast on Hebrews 12:1-2, Pastor Brent identifies 4 “principles” in running the race of the Christian life so that you may examine the condition of your spiritual life.
Eric Liddel was a world class Olympic runner. He set Olympic records that went unmatched for decades. But Eric Liddel was running a different race, he was running the race of the Christian life. His model and example should compel every Christian to consider whether he or she is running the Christian race in a way as to win! Are you really running the Christian race?
The moment that you were saved you entered the race of the Christian life. At certain times you must stop and consider if you are really running and how you are running. You must examine your spiritual condition and determine if you are running, i.e. living the Christian life in a way that brings glory to God.
To examine your spiritual condition you need markers or principles to make that evaluation. In Hebrews 12 we find those principles. Don’t take your spiritual life for granted, you must take time to do an examination to determine if you are in the faith.
