The Good News
October 20, 2013 Speaker: Brent Small
Passage: Ephesians 2:4–2:10
In this sermon podcast on Ephesians 2:4-10; Pastor Brent offers us three “saving acts” performed by God in salvation so that we will have the right perspective of the “good news.”
For every Christian the gospel good news is our most precious possession. The message that God sent His Son Jesus to become a man and die on a cross, to be buried in a tomb and to be raised again as a sacrifice for sin is the best news to a lost and sinful mankind. However, for this news to really be “good news” we must look at it from the right perspective.
The good news and the salvation is offers must be seen in the light of God’s sovereignty. Salvation in the life of the believer is completely and totally a work of God. God chooses, predestines, redeems, seals, justifies and sanctifies every believer. No one is saved on his or her own merit but absolutely and totally on the powerful and divine work of God.
In this message Pastor Brent challenges us to see the good news from the perspective of God’s sovereignty in salvation by offering three “saving acts” performed by God in salvation.
