A Relational 180, Pt. 1
February 17, 2013 Speaker: Brent Small
Passage: Titus 3:1–3:8
In this sermon podcast on Titus 3:1-8; Pastor Brent identifies four “relational realities” that accompany our spiritual transformation in Christ; so that we will maintain a testimony that honors Christ and makes him attractive to the world.
In Titus chapter 3 the Apostle Paul begins his final descent in his letter to Titus. In his final words Paul delivers a profound theological lesson for the Cretan believers and for all believers. The chapter begins with Paul calling Titus to remind the Cretan believers of things he had already taught them. What were these things?
Paul explains to Titus that he is to remind the Cretan believers that the spiritual transformation that have experienced through salvation has enabled them and demands of them that they now relate to the civil authorities or government and to unbelievers in a profoundly different way than they did before coming to Christ. Yes, the Cretan believers and all believers are to pursue a relational “180” with the world around them.
In this message, Pastor Brent begins to define this new reality by identifying two of the four “relational realities” that are wrapped up in a believer’s spiritual transformation.
