The Resurrection of the King
Topic: Resurrection Passage: John 20:1–20:18
In this sermon on John 20:1-18, Pastor Brent reveals three aspects of Christ’s resurrection that will lead you to exalt him as king in your life.
The King of the Jews has been exalted before men through his death on a Roman cross. He was then buried in the garden tomb, his body being cared for by two of his followers. However, the story of his coronation as “King” does not end with his death and burial.
For Jesus to be the eternal King of the Jews and the eternal King over all things he must rise from the grave! On the first day of the week, some of the women who were devout followers approach the garden tomb. What they find will shock them and the world. Furthermore, what these women find is a king who is resurrected from the dead, and who is now, because of his resurrection, truly the king over all.
