Passage: 2 Corinthians 4:7–4:15
This message from 2 Cor 4:7-15 considers the gospel treasure that every believer has been entrusted with by the Lord Jesus Christ. In it, Jeff draws out three characteristics of “God-approved” ministry from the Apostle Paul’s defense of his character and service to the church in Corinth.
While many leveled accusations against Paul in hopes of discrediting him, his attitude and his actions validated that he was serving not himself, but the Lord who had saved him. We see from the text that “God-approved” ministry is humble, arduous, and selfless and will be challenged to steward our own ministries after Paul’s pattern; not for ourselves, but for the glory of the One who rescued us by His grace.
