The Christian's Power Supply

January 1, 2012 Speaker: Brent Small Series: Independent Sermons

Passage: Ephesians 3:14–3:21

In this sermon podcast on Ephesians 3:14-21 Pastor Brent delivers “5” keys to access the power of God so that believers can face the challenges and embrace the opportunities of a new year to the glory of God and to promote their own spiritual maturity.

Each new year promises new challenges and new opportunities. For the Christian these challenges and opportunities all arrive in the providence of God and serve to conform us to the image of Christ and to bring Him glory if they are responded to and embraced properly. However, as the apostle Paul teaches us in Ephesians 3:14-21, the Christian has an infinite supply of power to face every challenge.

The Ephesian church had a great challenge before it. The Ephesian church was made up of both Jew and Gentile who were once spiritual enemies. The Jews having exclusive access to God despised the Gentile and saw him as a spiritual and social outcast. But now, in Christ, both Jew and Gentile were spiritual equals and now were united in Christ in the church. Paul was concerned. How would they being spiritually united reflect that unity in their daily experience? Paul’s answer, pray that God would empower them in their hearts.

As Paul prayed that the Ephesians would be empowered or spiritually strengthened to promote unity, we learn that believers have access to the very power of God to gain spiritual strength to face any challenge and embrace any opportunity for his or her own spiritual maturity. In this message Pastor Brent reveals the keys to accessing the power of God in the life of the believer as taught by Paul in Ephesians 3:4-21.
