All followers of Jesus Christ must take time to examine their spiritual condition. Scripture commands us to examine ourselves and examine our spiritual condition (1 Thess. 5:21, 1 Cor. 11:28, 2 Cor. 13:5). To examine ourselves, we must look into the spiritual “barometer” of our heart to determine the condition of our faith and walk with Christ.
There are many aspects of our faith that can be examined, and in this message Pastor Brent exhorts us to consider our love for the Word of God. Does your Christian life reveal a growing love for God’s Word? Do you long for His Word and is it the meditation of your day and your life?
In Psalm 119, the psalmist pens the Mount Everest of the Psalms. The theme of this psalm is the inexhaustible Word of God. As he writes, he reveals his heart attitudes toward the Word that become for us a mirror to examine the affection of our own heart for the Word.
By looking at this text, we are challenged to examine our own love for the Word. Every believer, if he or she is growing in faith, should sense a growing love for God’s Word. Do you? In this message, Pastor Brent helps us to discover “4” heart attitudes of the psalmist by which we can measure our own love for the Word.
