Philippians 3:1-11

In this sermon podcast on Philippians 3:1-11, Pastor Brent challenges us to examine our spiritual condition by looking at “2” indicators of our value and love for Christ.

All followers of Jesus Christ must take time to examine their spiritual condition. Scripture commands us to examine ourselves and examine our spiritual condition (1 Thess. 5:21, 1 Cor. 11:28, 2 Cor. 13:5). To examine ourselves, we must look into the spiritual “barometer” of our heart to determine the condition of our faith and walk with Christ.

There are many aspects of our faith that can be examined, and in this message Pastor Brent exhorts us to consider our value and love for Christ. Is Christ and our relationship with Him our most valued possession? Do we love Christ first and foremost? Has our love for Him grown cold?

In Philippians 3:1-11, the Apostle Paul testifies of the value and love that he place on Jesus and his relationship with Him. Paul valued Christ above anything else in his life. Christ had surpassing value, he was a priceless treasure, to the extent that Paul determined that his own spiritual resume and his worldly possessions were of no value to him. Only Christ and his union to Him, was of any value.

By looking at this text, we are challenged to examine our own value of Christ. In this message, Pastor Brent gives us “2” indicators that reveal the current value that we have placed on Christ. Is He your most valuable possession?
