Pastor Doug Satterewhite was born in North Carolina and raised in Alexandria, Virginia. Doug trusted Christ as his personal savior at age 8 and attended Barcroft Bible Church for many years before moving to Sterling in 1967. Upon moving to Sterling, Doug joined the staff at Faith Bible Church and served there as an elder and as the Chief of Staff and Pastor to Senior Adults.

Doug later moved to Sonrise Community Church also known as Lansdowne Bible Church also serving there as an elder and Pastor to Senior Adults. Doug is a student of the Bible. He has taken courses at Capital Bible Seminary and is a licensed minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Lord has richly blessed Doug giving him a burden and love for senior adults. In May 2007, Doug and his wife Vivian along with five other charter families planted Cascades Bible Church which was an outgrowth of a Senior Adult Bible Study that met weekly at the Loudon County Senior Center. Doug provided oversight to Cascades Bible being the elder and pastor of Cascades until October of this year when he called Pastor Brent to come and be the full-time Pastor. Doug now continues to serve as an elder and Pastor to Senior Adults.

Doug has been married to his wife Vivian for 50 years and have four children, Doug, Jr., Susan, Stuart and Colleen, and 13 grandchildren.
